Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is a pre-emergent weed killer that prevents the germination of a variety of lawn weeds, allowing you to enjoy a lush, healthy lawn. This product can be applied in both early spring and fall to achieve season-long control.
In the early spring, when the lawn is dry, Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer should be applied to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass, and oxalis. For goosegrass control, a second application is recommended eight weeks after the initial application.
During the fall, between August and October, this product can be used to prevent the germination of moss (except in California), Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed.
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is suitable for use on all lawn and grass types, with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns. The performance of this product is not affected by rain, snow, or freezing weather after application.
It is important to note that this product is a pre-emergent weed killer, meaning it prevents the germination of weeds. It does not control mature crabgrass or other existing weeds. One 20.12 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer covers an area of 10,000 sq. ft.
